1st Grade

First grade at Guntersville Elementary is an exciting year as students continue building on the strong foundation established in kindergarten. During this year, students grow as readers, writers, and problem solvers while developing confidence and independence in their learning.

In first grade, students strengthen their literacy and math skills through engaging lessons, hands on activities, and meaningful classroom experiences. Teachers focus on helping students develop strong reading habits, improve writing skills, and build a deeper understanding of numbers and problem solving.

Our first grade classrooms provide a supportive and encouraging environment where students are challenged to do their best and celebrate their progress along the way. At Guntersville Elementary, we are proud to help our first graders continue their journey of learning, discovery, and growth.
